From the very moment it disappeared under the waters of the North Atlantic, the search for the \"ship of dreams\"<\/strong> became the goal of oceanographers, historians, treasure hunters, researchers and even businessmen from all over the world.<\/p>

After years of investigations, on 1 September 1985 at 1.05 AM<\/strong>, the Titanic was located on the North Atlantic seabed, at a depth of four kilometres, 800 kilometres to the south-east of the coast of Nova Scotia, Canada<\/strong>.<\/p>

A Franco-American expedition led by Jean Jarry<\/strong>, of the French Research Institute for Exploitation of the Sea (IFREMER), and Robert Ballard<\/strong>, of the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, managed to film the Titanic on its deathbed for the first time.<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The following year, the first research and recovery expeditions<\/strong> took place, allowing a large number of original objects to be recovered and placed on display for the public.<\/p>

The first objects were recovered in 1987<\/strong>, although it was not until 1993 that the company of George Tulloch, RMS Titanic, was authorised to continue the operation to salvage objects<\/strong> on condition that the company did not profit from their sale.<\/p>

In one generation\u2014perhaps two\u2014the activity of the bacteria had taken its toll <\/strong>and the remains had disappeared, adding to the myth and legend.<\/p>
